Essential Features

MULTI USERS:
Allows you to share you Administration with your associates, co-workers, colleagues, etc...
See "Understanding Permissions" for more details.

MULTI CURRENCIES:
Allows you to offer more than one currency to your customers, in your store(s).
The number of currencies allowed is unlimited.
Rates are updated daily by default, but you can sign-up to Alpha Vantage (free) as an alternative if you wish.

MULTI LANGUAGES:
Allows you to offer more than one language to your customers.
English (GB) is default and must be preserved because it acts as a fallback.
To add an extra language you will need a compatible "Language Pack".
It is possible to translate the English language files but make sure you save the files in a new folder, named with your language.
Note: A "Language Pack" doesn't necessarily need both "Admin" and "Catalog", only "Catalog" is required, but having both is recommended.

MULTI STORES:
NivoCart allows you to run sub-stores inside your main store.
This usually requires to setup a sub-domain at your host.
This allows you to give a distinct URL to your sub-store.

Essential Managers

Administration Theme Manager
Found in: "System > Design > Administration"
This manager allows you to add a new CSS Stylesheet for your Administration. The number of Stylesheets allowed is unlimited.
Simply link using the name of the CSS file and select the right "Contrast" option: Dark for dark themes and Light for light themes.
The Contrast option will be used to adjust the display of Javascript to match your new Stylesheet.

Catalog Theme Manager
Found in: "Extensions > Themes"
This manager allows you to add a complete new front-end (Catalog) template for your store(s).
You will need a Third Party template (which can be your own) to upload to your server first.
Then, remember to give your user the permissions to Access and Modify it.
Third Party templates must have at least 2 sides:
- the Administration side, the theme controller, to go to "Extensions > Themes > (my-new-template-name)".
- the correct set of files for the Catalog side, to go in the files structure to "catalog > view > theme > (my-new-template-name)".
Note: A more comprehensive tutorial will be published later to explain the basics of designing a new theme.

User Logs Manager
Found in: "System > Users > User Logs"
Found in: "System > Logs > User Logs"
The User Logs Manager is security tool that records who does what with your Administration.
It is composed of 2 parts: The Report page and the Settings page.
The Report page will display all activities detected in your Administration, with useful information such as IP Addresses and time logged.
The Settings page is where to select which activity to track.
It is highly recommended to enable the User Logs to protect your store!

Menu Manager
Found in: "System > Design > Menus"
Allows you to "build" your own menus! The number of allowed menus is unlimited.
It is basically a tool to build a multi-levels list of links, with your chosen names. Links can be Internal URLs or External URLs.
Once created, your menus can be used by menu modules, in any layout or positions. You can also have a different menu for each page if you wish.
Note: Be careful with external URLs as they may be unsafe and a breach of your GDPR agreement.

Footer Manager
Found in: "System > Design > Footers"
Allows you to "build" your own footer lists. The number of allowed lists is unlimited.
Each List can be placed in any 1 of 4 footer Block, and stacked by "sort order".
A fifth block will always be reserved for the Store Details and Social Medias icons. However it is optional and can be hidden.
Only the attributed blocks will show and empty blocks will not show. So if you only use blocks 1 and 2, blocks 3 and 4 will not show, and blocks 1 and 2 will double in width to use the space available.
Footer Blocks are responsive and will stack-up from 1 to 4 on smaller screens.

Footer Blocks

Note 1: The display of Footers is the job of the Theme! This allows more control over the Theme's design.
Note 2: The Theme doesn't have to use the Footer Manager, but it is there if needed.

Offer Manager
Found in: "Sales > Offers > Offers Dashboard"
NivoCart allows you to create 1 to 1 Offers with your Products and Categories.
The combinations are as follow: Product to Product, Category to Category, Product to Category, or Category to Product.
You then can have offers in your store(s) such as: "Buy 1 get 1 Free", "Buy 2 and get the second half price", "Buy this and get 10% Off this", etc...
All offers have a Start date and an End date. They support Multi Currencies and Multi Stores.
Products on "Offer" can have a label displayed on top of the main image, if setup under "System > Settings > > Tab image".
An extra label can also be added through the Product form, but it will not automatically be removed when the Offer expires.

Payment Label Manager
Found in: "System > Design > Payments"
Allows you to display an image for your Payment Methods at checkout.
You can design your own payment solution logo if you wish, add it to the Payment Label Manager and select it with your Payment Method.
Note: the payment methods should be activated first under "Extensions > Payments" in order to add the payment image.

Links Manager
Found in: "System > Design > Links"
Allows you to create lists of links, both Internal or External, and for both the Administration or the Catalog.
Links created for the Administration will be automatically added to the right of the Administration's menu.
Once created, Catalog links can be displayed using the links module, in any layout or positions.
Note: Be careful with external URLs as they may be unsafe and a breach of your GDPR agreement.

Seo Url Manager
Found in: "Tools > SEO URL Manager"
Required: SEO URLs Rewrite should be turned ON in "System > Settings > > Tab server".
Allows you to manage your SEO URL keywords, EDIT them, or ADD missing ones.
If your not sure what they correspond to, simply click the link in the "Route" column to be re-directed to the source. Alternatively you can use one of the QuickLinks buttons at the top of the page.
Another QuickLink is available from the Main Admin Dashboard, top right with the letter A. If the colour under the letter A is Green all is OK, if it goes Orange some keywords are missing, and if it goes Red then many keywords are missing.
There is also an option in "System > Settings > > Tab preference" to create keywords automatically when creating a new Category, Product, Manufacturer, Information, or News article.
Rewritten SEO URLs are "friendly" URLs for Search Engines and Customers. They will help getting your content published by Search Engines. It is recommended to use them.
Note: SEO URLs Rewrite may not work properly on Sub-domains.

Cache Manager (files)
Found in: "Tools > Cache Manager > Cache Files"
NivoCart create Cached files all the time, in both Administration and Catalog, to speed-up the page loading processes the second time around.
Cache files are small encrypted files that store data for a duration of 60 minutes. Once they expire, they are automatically deleted. When the page is being visited again, a new cache file is created for another 60 minutes.
Cache files will be deleted automatically when some new content is created or existing content has changed. For example, adding a new product will delete the old "cache.product" file because it is no longer correct.
Sometimes you will have to clear the cache manually. To do this, simply tick all the boxes on the left and then click the Delete button at the top. The most common cached file is probably "cache.store", as it is required almost on every page.

Cache Manager (images)
Found in: "Tools > Cache Manager > Cache Images"
Same as Files, but for Images.

API Key Manager
Found in: "Tools > API Key Manager"
Allows you to store any codes or keys into the database.
The only purpose of the API Key Manager is to safely store bits of codes.

vQmod Manager
Found in: "Extensions > Modifications > vQmods"
VQmod is a great Tool that needs to be installed first in order to work. So click "Install".
The vQmod installer will make some changes in your "index.php" files, so you will be logged off temporarily. Click the link to Login again.
VQmod is now ready and a new link has been created in your Administration's menu.
VQmod allows you to install extensions without having to change any core files. These extension simply blend-in on-the-fly with the core code when needed.
The vQmod Manager allows you to upload new extension files (xml), Install them, Uninstall them, clear the vQmod cache and so on ...
For more information about vQmod, click Here

Banner Manager
Found in: "System > Design > Banners"
Allows you to create Banners. Banners are a collection of one or more images.
Images in a collection can be of different size or type but it is recommended to use the same size and type for performance reasons.
Once created, Banners can be used by Modules such as "Slideshow", "Banner" or "Carousel". Other Third Party Modules are also possible.

Media Manager
Found in: "System > Design > Medias"
Allows you to create Audio and Video content.
Supported formats: mp3, mp4, oga, ogv, ogg, webm, m4a, m4v, wma, wmv and flv.
Once created, content can be played using the Media Player Module.
Note 1: Browsers will display the Media Player differently. That's normal.
Note 2: Media files (especially videos) cannot be too large, otherwise it simply wont work.
Note 3: Using Audio and Video often implies Copyrights. Please use responsibly.

File Manager
Found in: "Tools > File Manager"
File Manager comes in 2 flavours: Full page and Dialog.
Both do the same things. The Dialog version is everywhere an image is needed: Product form, Category form, News form, etc..., while the Full page version has its own page.
The File Manager is probably the most important Tool in your Administration, as it manages all your content, including:
PDF, Archives (Zip, Rar), Audio Files (M4a, Mp3, Oga, Wav, Wma), Video Files (M4v, Mp4, Ogg, Ogv, Webm, Wmv), Flash Files (Flv, Swf) and of course, Image Files (Gif, Jpg, Png).
A complete set of tools are at your disposal to: Create new folders, Rename files and folders, Copy files and folders, Move files and folders, Delete files and folders, and Upload new files.
File Manager uses "PlupLoad" Javascript library to perform multiple uploads at once, or single large files up to 100Mb!
File Manager also feature an Ajax Search box to help you find your files easily.
Use it well and File Manager will be your best friend! ... otherwise it could be your worst nightmare!

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Note 1: Once created and not empty, try NOT to Copy, Move or Rename folders! A wrong move and your data could be lost.
Note 2: Do NOT Delete folders unless you are sure it is safe to do so! A wrong move and your data could be lost.
Note 3: If a file is being used, do NOT Rename it! Doing this will break the existing link and you would have to link it again.
